A year ago this weekend Baby Cat entered Darren and my life.
It happened like this:
In the morning, as I was peering out the window, I genuinely said: I wish a stray cat would appear. In Venice I had a few stray cats I fed and it was awesome. It was like having pets without having pets.
Later on, I’m still thinking about this, like really chewing on it, and I say: And I want the cat to be like a little snow leopard.
I stop thinking about it and move on with the day. In the late afternoon Darren and I are in the yard eating bowls of beef stew before going to see Cloud Atlas (cool movie, btw) when, lo and behold, a little white cat appears in the back of the yard! She stalks us and tries to knock our food out of our hands she’s so hungry. She has beautiful full fur so she appears ok but when I pet her I can feel her body is skeletal. She’s frantic to get our food. Desperate to eat. So… Mama Robin gets a can of tuna from the kitchen and gives it to her. She wolfs it down.
We now have a pet.
Sometimes manifestation takes a loooong time to happen and you wonder if Life is ever going to deliver. But sometimes it’s really quick. I’m grateful this was a quick one. She’s such a lovely animal companion and this year has been so much sweeter for me and Darren with Baby Cat in our lives.
