This kicks off a new thread on this blog where I’ll post some of the better (inspiring, fun, thoughtful, cute, etc.) things I’ve recently found on the internet.
I’ve seen other bloggers do this and it’s usually called “Things I Love Thursdays” BUT being a child of the 80s, and a child who spent a LOT of time watching and loving Yo! Mtv Raps with Ed Lover, Dr Dre, and Fab Five Freddy I was inspired to call it Fab Find Friday. Get it? 🙂
1. Brene Brown – The Power of Vulnerability and Listening to Shame
I can’t say enough good things about these two TED talks. The first, The Power of Vulnerability, was aired in 2010 and has been viewed over 4 million times! The second, Listening to Shame, was made this month. If you have a desire to feel freer being real in your life, check these talks out.
2. Sue Bryce
Sue Bryce’s ability to see and capture the beauty in women is awe-inspiring and her approach to marketing and business is beyond inspiring. I watched a 3 day workshop she led on creativeLIVE a couple of weekends ago and I’m still digesting all I took in! I wrote about it here.
creativeLive is an amazing resource out of Seattle that hosts photography education workshops for FREE most weekend. You might be wondering why I’m watching photography workshops. Three reasons: 1) It’s something I’m interested in and would like to learn more about. 2) Much of what they speak of can be translated to any creative and entrepreneurial business. 3) The people I’ve seen on there know their stuff and are majorly inspiring!
4. Video: Jason Roberts – How to Build a Better Block
We all see things around us that could use some TLC, but how many of us feel like our efforts will make a difference? Jason Roberts talks about his approach to improving spaces and places that have not only transformed his area, they’ve inspired so many that a Better Block movement is springing up around the country!
5. Videos: Tigers + Lions
Lately I’ve been watching a lot of nature documentaries. And, in particular, I love David Attenborough. These two documentaries take you into lion and tiger dens with cameras disguised as rocks and logs. The cats are beautiful and their lives are so different from one another.
